How it happened

The Wildcats struck first in the 9th minute when Michael Gray converted from close range after a Chico corner to give the visitors a 1–0 lead.

The advantage was short-lived, as the Broncos equalized six minutes later on Marvin Gamez's fifth goal of the season, assisted by Sam Lena.

Both defenses tightened after the early scoring burst. Weston Joyner made three saves for Chico State, including a diving stop on a late effort in the 88th minute to preserve the draw.
