Game 2 (Resumed) – Chico State 6, CSUMB 3
After the rain postponed game two on Friday, the 'Cats and Otters resumed early in the morning to get the entire series in. Heading into the resumed matchup with a 2-0 lead, Chico State held onto the lead and added four more runs to win 6-3.
Sophia Tassanari earned her first win in the circle as a Wildcat, striking out two in two innings. Amelie Valdez tagged in for the save, recording her first save of the season and securing the 'Cats' second win of the series.
Game 3 – Chico State 0, CSUSM 1
A scoreless seven innings ended in a walk-off homerun from CSUSM's Faith Soriano in her first at-bat as a pinch hitter for the Otters. The 'Cats faced CCAA strikeout leader Mackenzie Willis in their second outing against the freshman, and her impressive pitches were tough to connect with.
The Wildcats recorded four hits in the extra innings loss, Taylor Berens with two at the plate while Ashley Rocha and Lily Cante tally singles.
Game 4 – Chico State 2, CSUSM 0
Katelyn Oldwin pitches a complete game and earns her third win of the season in a shutout 2-0 victory over the Otters to close out the series. Oldwin retired five while allowing six hits but not giving up a single run.
Continuing their strong weekend in Seaside, Ali Lewis and Hannah Levy were responsible for driving in the two runs in the finale. Levy singled up the middle in the third to drive Karlie Bilbrey in for the lead; Ali Lewis followed with a double to left center, allowing Lily Cante to double the lead.
