A short trip down to Seaside to take on the Ottesr of Cal State Monterey Bay and the Wildcats pick up the first win of the series. Unfortunately, heavy rains postponed game two in the second inning after the Wildcats jumped to a two-run lead.
Chico State improves to 6-11 CCAA (7-16 Overall) with their win in Seaside.

Facing one of the NCAA DII leaders in strikeouts, Mackenzie Willis, who has 134 total strikeouts with the Otters, the Wildcats tallied seven hits against the freshman pitcher.
Freshman Ali Lewis opened up the scoring for the Wildcats with her third home run of the season against Willis with a two-run blast to left center, bringing Hannah Levy across home with her.
Starting and pitching six innings for the 'Cats, Amelie Valdez held the Otters scoreless throughout her time in the circle, striking out four and walking three. Valdez holds fifth in total strikeouts in the CCAA with 59.
Returning the favor and doubling the lead, Hannah Levy singled into the perfect spot between the center and right-fielders for two RBIs. Levy went 2-for-3 at the plate, smashing the game's only double.
The Otters rallied back to score two runs on two outs in the bottom of the seventh, but Katelyn Oldwin was called in to finish the series opener and secured the Wildcats their sixth win of the conference season.
Valdez improved to 5-9 in the circle, and Oldwin earned her second save.
Game two was postponed due to excessive rains in Seaside. The weather will be evaluated tomorrow to determine if the series' remaining games can be played and if the resumption of game two can occur.
