Over the years, Chico State volleyball's Brooke Ono has been a model of consistency. The Cameron Park product has been smoothly setting up Wildcat hitters literally the minute she joined the program in 2019, and as a result has fittingly been receiving awards on a consistent basis. Ono can add yet another accolade to her resume, as the junior has earned an All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Honorable Mention in the conference's year-end awards list, released Wednesday.
Ono's latest award marks the third time she has received all-conference honors for her wizardry on the court. She was named CCAA All-Honorable Mention as a true freshman in 2019, and again in 2021.
Ono appeared in all 25 matches for Chico State in 2022, collecting a team-high 623 assists. She also ranked second on the Wildcats with 17 service aces and 293 digs, while adding 33 kills and 23 blocks to the 'Cats' attack.
Ono was among the top CCAA setters through the 2022 campaign, finishing the season fourth in assists and fifth in assists per set (7.16).
As a result of three solid years anchoring the Chico State offense, Ono has entrenched herself in the Wildcat record books. With one year of eligibility remaining, she currently ranks fifth in the program's history with 2,604 career assists, and seventh in career assists per set (9.23).
