As evidenced by an outstanding 2022 campaign and yet another trip to the postseason, the Chico State women's soccer team knows that hard work brings great results. For six players, the same holds true for their efforts in the classroom, as six Wildcats—Susanna Garcia, Mackenzie Gill, Emma Hofmann, Klayre Barres, Taylor Russell, and Madison Noll—were honored Tuesday by the College Sports Communicators (CSC; formerly CoSIDA) by being named to the organization's 2022 Academic All-District Team.

The CSC Academic All-District Team spotlights the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions—NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA—for each gender.

Tuesday's award is the second CSC/CoSIDA Academic All-District award for Garcia, who also owns five CCAA All-Academic honors and three Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic (D2ADA) Achievement Awards.

The five other Wildcat recipients also add Tuesday's CSC Academic All-District award to multiple academic honors. Gill is a five-time CCAA All-Academic recipient and earned the 2021–22 D2ADA Academic Achievement Award; Noll, Barres, and Russell each received 2021–22 CCAA All-Academic and D2ADA Academic Achievement Award honors, and Hofmann earned 2021–22 CCAA All-Academic accolades.

The six Wildcats now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with First-, Second-, and Third-Team honorees announced in early December.
