LOS ANGELES – The Chico State men's soccer team reached the midway point of the conference season with a 1-1 draw on the road at Cal State L.A. Sunday, a result that gives the Wildcats great confidence as they embark on the second half.
Octavio Murillo scored for the second time in nine days to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead, striking from close range after a pass from Omar Nuno in the 50
th minute.
Cal State L.A. evened things up with 3:47 remaining in regulation to force overtime.
Chico State, just the second team this season to get a result at Cal State L.A., is now 4-5-2 overall and 2-3-1 in the CCAA. Cal State L.A. is 7-2-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the CCAA.
The Wildcats were out-shot 19-13 but attempted six of the game's last eight.
The Wildcats will be back out on the road next weekend when they visit Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino to wrap up their regular-season road slate.
