Of her three years as a member of the Chico State women's basketball team, Kayla Taylor is in the midst of putting together arguably the finest season of her Wildcat career. The senior forward has posted personal bests in scoring, field goal percentage, free throw percentage, and rebounds, and is a key reason why the 'Cats are in contention for postseason play. Her consistent scoring was once again in evidence Saturday against Humboldt State, leading all players with 17 points, resulting in Taylor winning her second Wildcat of the Week nod of the 2017–18 campaign.
 
Taylor connected on seven of her 12 field goal attempts—including the first 3-pointer of her Wildcat career—and was 2-for-2 from the free throw line to score in double digits for the 10th time this season. The Concord product added three rebounds and an assist, but it wasn't quite enough to keep the 'Cats from bowing to the Lumberjacks 69-60 at Acker Gym.
 
Taylor is currently averaging 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds a game, and has connected on an impressive 57.9 percent of her shots this season. In nine home games, Taylor is averaging 12.7 points and 5.2 boards per contest.
 
Taylor's career field goal percentage of .520 is tied for second-best in Chico State history.
 
Taylor and the Wildcats hit the road this weekend, traveling to Southern California to take on Cal State Dominguez Hills Friday and Cal State LA on Saturday.
