Isaiah Ellis averaged 15.5 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1.5 steals per game as Chico State won twice last weekend to run its winning streak to nine games. The Wildcat of the Week pulled down a career-best 14 rebounds in an 89–82 victory against Cal State Dominguez Hills Friday night, and matched his career-high with four assists in a 77–70 win against Cal State L.A. Saturday.
Ellis finished with 18 points, 14 rebounds, two assists, a blocked shot, and two steals against Cal State L.A. His offensive rebound and put-back with 1:49 to play gave the Wildcats' a two-possession lead they would not relinquish.
He made another huge play to put the game away against Cal State Dominguez Hills the following night, dishing to Robert Duncan for a 3-pointer as the shot clock wound down. Ellis finished with 13 points, six rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots, and a steal.
The junior from Sacramento shot 11-of-22 from the floor and 9-of-11 from the free throw line over the weekend.
Ellis, a First Team All-Conference selection last season as a sophomore, ranks second on the Wildcats in scoring, steals, blocked shots, and rebounding.
Chico State will now hit the road for games at Humboldt State Thursday night and Cal Poly Pomona Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. each night.
