For the Chico State women's track & field team to win its sixth consecutive California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) title, the Wildcats needed several athletes to step up and deliver the best efforts of their careers. Marina Berrios stepped up to the lofty challenge and answered the bell with authority – the talented freshman sprinter personally accounted for 18.5 team points while posting a pair of personal bests over the weekend and was part of one of the fastest 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams in the program's history, helping Chico State once again take home the conference championship banner. Her inspired effort in San Francisco makes Berrios the latest Wildcat of the Week.
 
The Stanton native began her super Saturday at San Francisco State's Cox Stadium teaming with Ashley Jones, Aja Erskine and Ruby Davis to win the 4x100 relay, scoring an NCAA Provisional qualifying mark while recording the second fastest time (46.83 seconds) in school history. Later in the day Berrios placed third in the 100-meter dash with a personal best (PR) time of 12.27 seconds – the 10th fastest ever by a Wildcat sprinter.
 
Berrios went on to earn second place honors in the 200-meter dash, again turning in a PR performance (25.07 seconds) that placed her into ninth place on Chico State's all-time top 10. Berrios finished a productive day by combining with Erskine, Bailey Henshaw and Olivia Watt to place second in the 4x400 relay – the team's time of 3:48.93 becoming the second-fastest in Wildcat history.
