Jordan Lindebaum is fast becoming one of Head Coach Dave Taylor’s most versatile – and valuable – commodities on the Chico State pitching staff. Whether as a starter of reliever, the junior fom Camarillo has delivered quality innings all season for the No. 10 ranked Wildcats. This weekend was no exception – making just his third start of the year, Lindebaum twirled six shutout innings in Saturday’s doubleheader nightcap against Cal State L.A. and picked up his fourth win of the season as Chico State bested the Golden Eagles in a 1-0 thriller. Lindebaum’s latest bit of mound magic has earned the lanky righthander the Wildcat of the Week award.

In one of his finest efforts of the season, Lindebaum scattered four hits and struck out four without walking a batter Saturday before handing the ball to Wildcat closer Juan Guerra in the seventh inning. Lindebaum outdueled arguably the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s top pitcher, Gabriel Asakura, to notch the “W” and go to 4-0 on the season while lowering his earned run average to an impressive 1.85.
