Chico State striker Ferid Celosmanovic, a native of Brcko, Bosnia (West Valley CC), scored a pair of goals in the Wildcats’ 3-0 win against Cal Poly Pomona Friday and then barely missed another Sunday (it went off the crossbar). Celosmanovic tallied in the 17th minute and then the 62nd minute against the Broncos to bring his season goal total to four.

Celosmanovic blasted a restart from 20 yards through Pomona goalkeeper James Iles’ reaching hands to put Chico State ahead 1-0 in the 17th minute. He headed home Luis Martinez’s set piece from about 35 yards with a flick from close to the penalty spot in the 62nd minute for his second goal.

The junior has now scored four times this season, which leads Chico State and ranks fifth in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). He's tied for the CCAA lead with a pair of game-winning goals and ranks fourth in shots per game at 3.83.
