Nathan Spillane is USA Weightlifting Level 1 certified strength and conditioning coach currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Movement Science and a minor in Coaching at Chico State. With coaching experiences across high school, NCAA Division I and DII settings, Spillane has developed a strong foundation in performance training, athlete communication, and applied sports science.
Spillane most recently served as an intern with the University of Michigan Olympic Strength and Conditioning program, where he gained valuable hands-on experience working with nationally ranked, Olympic-level, and professional athletes.
Spillane has interned at Chico State since Fall 2024. During his first year in the program, Spillane led implementation of the men’s and women’s cross country strength training program and assisted with track and field and men’s soccer. He also has experience at the high school level, supporting the student athletes at his alma mater, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in San Francisco.
