Chico State Athletics

Fresh off completing his collegiate career, Matthew Rodriguez returned to Chico State to be part of the track & field coaching staff. In addition to coaching the pole vaulting corps and contributing to the jumps group, Rodriguez will lead the effort in recruiting the women's team.

As a student-athlete, Rodriguez earned a spot on the podium in the pole vault at the 2024 CCAA Championships, placing second to receive all-conference recognition.

A native of Grass Valley and Bear River High School, Rodriguez graduated from Chico State in 2025.
