Lewis Griffith serves as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for Chico State Athletics. He began his journey with the Wildcats strength and conditioning program as an intern in Spring 2023 before advancing to a graduate assistant role in Fall 2024, and ultimately into his current coaching position.
Beyond Chico State, Lewis has gained valuable experience in athletics at the High School, Junior College, and NCAA Division I levels. His coaching experience includes the University of Missouri (Olympic sports), Butte College (football), and Pleasant Valley High School (football). In the summer of 2025, he also served as a football strength and conditioning intern at Sacramento State University, further expanding his expertise in developing athletes at the collegiate level.
Lewis is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a USA Weightlifting Coach (USAW-L1). He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Chico State and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Kinesiology, with an expected graduation in Spring 2026.
A multi-sport athlete in high school, Lewis competed in both soccer and baseball, experiences that fueled his passion for athletic performance and coaching.
With a strong foundation in both coaching and education, Lewis is committed to advancing his career in collegiate or professional athletics, where he aspires to continue supporting athletes in achieving peak performance.
