Jackson Whitlow is another new member of the Chico State volleyball brain trust, as he joins Head Coach Tommy Gott’s staff as assistant coach in 2021.
Whitlow has been coaching volleyball at various levels for over a decade. From 2018 to 2020, he served as an assistant at Tracy High School, helping lead the Bulldog varsity team to the first section championship in the program’s history.
In 2017 Whitlow logged a year as assistant coach at Riverside High School in Boardman, Oregon. Whitlow’s first prep coaching job came in 2012, when he spent a year as an assistant at Springfield High School in Springfield, Oregon.
Whitlow has lent his coaching expertise to a number of club organizations over the years, including Rage Volleyball Club in Ripon, Lodi’s Spark Volleyball Club, and the Northern California Volleyball Club. He spent a year coaching for the Portland Youth Volleyball Association, and in 2014 and 2015 was a contributing coach to the University of Oregon’s summer volleyball camp program.
During his playing days, Whitlow was a standout at Folsom High School, earning the Delta River League’s Spirit Award in 2010. In college, he played club volleyball at the University of Oregon.
Whitlow received his bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Oregon in 2015. He is currently working on earning a master’s degree in kinesiology at Chico State.
