- A recipient of the Orange County Youth Sports Federation Scholarship in 2024
- Calls herself a hero "for getting myself to where I am now."
- Admires Elle St. Pierre because "of her toughness and resilience. After Pierre took time off last year to have a baby, she set American records within 6 months and the world record in the 2 mile in only a year! She truly is an inspiration to me because she is living proof that with time and dedication, it’s possible to make a come back and be better than ever before."
- When asked why she chose Chico State: "I’ve known about Chico since I was a sophomore in high school and my brother transferred there. When I visited him I thought Chico was a neat place, but never did I predict I’d go to school there too! My brother had stopped by Coach Gary’s office and put me on their radar earlier in my high school career, but it wasn’t until September of my senior year that we spoke on the phone for the first time. I was hit by a car and ended up having to take the cross country season off, and instead of being uninterested due to my injury he told me how he has gotten hit too! Through this phone call I learned a lot more about the school, program, and training. I also really liked the fact that Coach Towne had been coaching at Chico so long, he seemed very genuine, understanding, and dedicated to his athletes. I went to the state meet to watch a teammate compete and ended up running into Coach Gary and Coach Scott at a poke place. What were the odds? It felt like the universe wanted me to visit, so I made a plan to go to Chico with my siblings over winter break. Ironically enough, after I made the decision to visit I received a holiday card from Coach Gary talking about making a decision happen. It felt like fate. I went, saw more of the town and school, met some of the girls, ran in some cool places, and even did a polar plunge! I connected with the team in a more genuine, authentic feeling way than the other school I visited. The more time I spent in Chico, the more I could envision myself making it my home. So after I returned, I had a phone call with Coach Gary talking about how the trip went, and it was settled. I took a week or two to consider my options but there was a clear winner. In short, I chose Chico State because of the excellent coaches and program history that speaks for itself. I wanted to come to a school where I felt I was valued and would be able to contribute, develop, and grow. I loved the people I met on my visit and felt Chico would be the best fit."
- When asked her greatest moment in sports so far: "Tough question, there’s many. Breaking 18 at my county’s cross country championships my junior year and running faster than people I thought were so much better than me was pretty special. Racing the steeple at nationals my junior year, going out in 76 the first lap (and almost dead last!) then finishing in fifth place was exciting too. Overall my junior year was really memorable because it taught me the importance of believing in myself and perseverance, which helped me have breakthroughs. Okay wait that’s too long just say Slamming into the water jump in a steeple race, falling, getting back up, still PRing by 8 seconds and qualifying for nationals."
- An impressive thing she's accomplished outside of sports is "facing adversity and rising above it, allowing it to shape me into who I am today."
- Outside of her sport, her best talent is "my ability to empathize and connect with people and adapt to change. I also speak a little Chinese."
- When she has spare time: "I love spending time in nature and being outside, reading a good book or watching a movie, listening to music, researching niche topics I’m interested in, spending time with friends, cooking, and resting."
- On her bucket list is to go to a rock concert
- An interesting fact about her is she had a pet pig until she was six
- The best advice she received was from her coach: "Plan your race, race your plan."
- Majoring in Nutrition with aspirations to become a sports dietitian and to get into coaching
