Pre-Chico Days
Spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons as a member of the Butte College women’s track & field team…Ran the 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, and 4x100m relay in her first season with the Roadrunners…Placed third in the 100m hurdles (15.86 seconds) and 400m hurdles (1:07.70) at the 2019 NorCal Track & Field Championships…Competed in the heptathlon for Butte at the 2020 Chico Multi Classic, finishing 10th overall…A 2018 graduate of Oroville High School…Earned the school’s 2018 Senior Athlete of the Year honors…Westside League 100m hurdles champion in 2017 and 2018…Took top honors in the 300m hurdles at the 2018 CIF Northern Section Finals…Finished first in the 300m hurdles and as part of the Tigers’ 4x100m relay team at the 2017 Westside League Championships…Named track & field team MVP in 2017…Also lettered in soccer, volleyball, and basketball…Earned All-Westside League honors in volleyball.

Born March 25, 2000, in Oroville…Daughter of David Schillig and Karen Rocchi-Schillig…Has one older brother, Kevin…The person she most admires in the sports world is Australian hurdler Michelle Jenneke (“because she dances before getting in her blocks”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Genetics, taught by David Keller…Chose to attend Chico State “due to its family-oriented track team, the campus, and location”…Her greatest sports moment competing at the CCCAA state championships in 2019…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is compete in the heptathlon without prior experience in the majority of the events…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is competing at a high school track & field state meet with strep throat…Has learned by competing in track & field to “never let hurdles get in your way”…Enjoys hiking when she has some free time…Baking is her biggest talent outside of sports…Can play the piano…Loves dogs…At the top of her bucket list: “Hike Half Dome in Yosemite”…Best advice ever received came from her mom: “Always have ‘sisu’(a Finnish word that means courage and determination)”…Majoring in cellular and molecular biology…Plans to pursue a career in forensics.
