Competed in two events during the shortened 2020 track & field season, placing second as part of the 4x100m relay team (48.16 seconds) and 10th in the 200m dash (26.43 seconds) at the March 6, 2020 Kim Duyst Invitational…Earned two CCAA All-Academic awards.
2019
Posted PR times of 12.73 seconds in the 100m dash, 25.43 seconds in the 200m dash, and 57.64 seconds in the 400m dash as a true freshman…Combined with Dani Olson, Claire Chappell, and Jacqueline Massey-Blake to produce a time of 49.47 seconds in the 4x100m relay…Teamed with Chappell, Sydney Proiette, and Sheena Blackwell to record the team’s fastest 4x400m relay time of the season at 3:51.97.
Pre-Chico Days
A 2018 graduate of Sutter Union High School in Sutter…Placed first in the 200m and 400m dash at the 2018 CIF Northern Section Finals, earning a trip to the State meet in both events…Butte View League champion in 100m, 200m, 400m, and 4x400m relay as a senior…Took top BVL honors in 100m, 200m, and 400m in 2017…League 100m champion in 2015…Holds school records for 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay.
Personal
Born June 7, 2000, in Yuba City…Daughter of Gary Bailey and Karen Bourland…Has two half-siblings…Chose to attend Chico State “because the first time I stepped onto campus it felt like home”…Her greatest sports moment was when the Chico State track team went to the CCAA Championships in San Diego (“The energy was indescribable”)…Has learned by competing in track & field that “persistence may not predict success, but giving up guarantees failure”…Enjoys baking, exercising, and hiking with friends when she has some free time…Used to be a competitive dancer…At the top of her bucket list: “Travel to a different country”…Majoring in nutrition and food science…Plans to complete her dietetic internship and received her master’s degree.
