Pre-Chico Days
A 2020 graduate of San Lorenzo Valley High School in Felton…Helped lead Cougars to the 2019 Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League title and a second place tie at the CIF Central Coast Section Finals…Three-time SCCAL pole vault champion…Part of the 4x100m relay team that took top SCCAL honors and set a school record (49.11 seconds) at the 2019 CCS Semifinals…Team MVP in 2019…Set a new school pole vault record (11-feet-6) at the 2019 CCS Finals.

Born December 27, 2001, in West Hills…Daughter of Matthew Brackett and Julie Caron-Brackett…Has three younger siblings: Madison, Logan, and Charley…The person she most admires in the sports world is Olympic medalist and American pole vault record holder Sandi Morris (“She doesn't let injuries or setbacks stop her, and she always maintains a good attitude”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Child Development, taught by Jennifer Swisher…Chose to attend Chico State “because it felt like home as soon as I walked on campus and met the team! I knew Chico had a great nursing program, but visiting and seeing that everyone was so friendly and welcoming really made me love the school even more. I could tell that Chico’s track team is a hard-working group that has fun together, and I knew right away that I wanted to be a part of the team”…Her greatest sports moment was winning the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League championships with her high school track and field team (“We had not won league in over a decade, but the team worked really hard all season, and we came together that day and brought home the gold!”)…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is travel to New York…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is graduate from high school during a pandemic…Has learned by competing in track & field that “failures and mistakes can be just as important as wins. They help give you the drive and motivation to work hard and improve”…Enjoys going on drives to the beach, and spending time with friends and family…Considers baking one of her biggest non-sport talents…Was a gymnast before joining her high school track team…At the top of her bucket list: “Taking a trip to Australia”…Best advice ever received came from her aunt: “Live your life for you”…Majoring in pre-nursing…Plans a career as a neonatal intensive care unit nurse, or a labor and delivery nurse.
