- Made her Chico State cross country debut with a 23rd place finish (6k time of 22:09.1) September 25, 2021 at the Cougar Challenge
- Posted a time of 23:56.8 and placed 42nd October 9, 2021 at the Western Washington Bill Roe Classic
- Delivered a personal best 6k time of 21:49.4 on the way to a 20th place finish October 23, 2021 at the CCAA Cross Country Championships
- Concluded the fall with an 87th place showing (23:26.3) November 6, 2021 at the NCAA West Regional
- Did not compete during the 2022 track & field season
- Earned the 2021–22 Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.
Pre-Chico Days
- Ran both cross country and track at Corcoran High School
- As a freshman in cross country, finished fourth in the league championships, seventh in the Central Section Championships, and 128th at the state meet
- Finished seventh in the league, ninth in the section, and 129th at the state meet as a sophomore
- Enjoyed a breakout season as a junior, winning the ESL championship, posting a sixth place run at the section championships, and a 29th place finish (19:05) at the state meet
- An abbreviated senior cross country season resulted in four wins in five races and one second place run
- On the track, earned a league title her senior year in the 1,600m and recorded 2:22, 5:17, and 11:41 PRs for the 800m, 1,600m and 3,200m distances respectively
- Team MVP in 2018 and 2019
- Holds the school record for the 800m, 1,600m, and 5k
- Woodward Park course school record holder.
Personal
- Born February 20, 2003, in Fresno
- Daughter of Jose Guerrero and Maria Loera
- Has two siblings, Gabriel and Jimena
- Her mother and father are her heroes (“they are the most selfless people I have ever met. They sacrificed everything to give my family a better life and I hope to make them proud during my time here in Chico”)
- The person she most admires in the sports world is Olympic gold medal sprinter/hurdler Sydney McLaughlin (“because of her confidence and dominance in her sport despite her young age”)
- Why she chose to attend Chico State: “Not only did it seem like the right place for me to continue my athletic journey, but it also seemed like a great place to pursue my academic career”
- Her greatest sports moment was competing in the CCAA Cross Country Championships (“It was an amazing field of competitors as well my very talented teammates, and I was able to run my personal best time on a fast course”)
- Has learned by competing in distance running that “I am more than just a runner. It was hard to find my identity beyond my sport, but after my first year of college I learned a lot about myself and my identity and it has helped me navigate my life experiences with more confidence”
- Enjoys spending time with friends and family (“even if it’s just a FaceTime call”)
- Her biggest non-sports talent is how much she can nap in a day (“I once napped three times in one day”)
