Pre-Chico Days
Transfer from Merced College…Competed in water polo and swimming for the Blue Devils, earning First Team All-Coast Conference and All-America honors…Served as team captain…Received the Blue Devil Award as the school’s best all-around athlete…A 2018 graduate of Turlock High School…Competed in the shot put and discus as a senior…Also lettered in water polo and swimming…Named First Team All-Central California Athletic Conference.
Personal
Born September 7, 2000, in Turlock…Daughter of Kurt and Brenda…Has three older siblings: Kristine, Rebekah, and Hannah…Her grandmother is her hero (“She has gone through so much and is always moving and staying active. She is always taking care of other people’s well-being above her own”)…The person she most admires in the sports world is Michael Phelps (“because of his hard work and dedication that took him so far in his sport”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Agricultural Markets and Pricing, taught by Christine Carroll…Chose to attend Chico State “because of my major and the surrounding geography that offers a lot of nature activities, like hiking”…Her greatest sports moment is taking first place in a CrossFit partner competition…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is being part of a couple internships (“One of them took me to Oklahoma. It was actually my first time on a plane”)…The most impressive thing she’s ever done is gotten up on a surfboard on the first try…Has learned by competing in track & field is “that no matter what happens to keep pushing and work hard to better yourself”…Enjoys going to the gym and spending time outdoors…Considers skiing and CrossFit her biggest talents away from the track…Won a contest by writing a book in fourth grade; that book is now published…At the top of her bucket list: “Go and live in Hawaii for at least a few months”…Best advice ever received: “Even if you may be new to something, if you’re putting in the work necessary, you will excel”…Majoring in agriculture business…Plans to pursue a career in the agricultural field and ultimately become a land appraiser.
