Personal
- Born February 19, 2002, in Roseville
- Daughter or Troy and Melinda
- Has one younger brother, Kyle
- Her hero is Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu creator Tommy Andreasen (“Not only is he a producer for a show I love dearly, but I also admire the way he handles fan interactions. Even though he has no obligation to do so, he answers fan questions on Twitter with a lot of class and a good sense of humor. He’s been doing this for years, and I think he’s awesome for dealing with pushy fans the way he does”)
- The person she most admires in the sports world is her former high school teammate Leila Swanson (“Not only is she a fantastic runner, but she is a bundle of joy and an extremely happy and positive presence in a team setting”)
- Favorite course at Chico State is Complex Analysis, taught by John Lind
- Why she chose to attend Chico State: “I have a lot of family who lives in Chico, so I can visit with them and have a piece of home with me in college. I also chose Chico because it was somewhere I could have the opportunity to run. Finally, I chose Chico because it’s a great education for an affordable value, and I can actually get to know my professors and classmates”
- Her greatest sports moment is posting a PR time of 2:29 in the 800m during the 2022 Chico State track & field season (“I had been working towards hitting sub-2:20 all season long, and it was extremely rewarding to achieve my goal. And on home turf, to boot!”)
- The most interesting thing she’s ever done is travel to Legoland and back, all in one day (“I left on a plane at 6 a.m. and came back at 9:30 that night. I met up with an internet friend of mine there and we had a fantastic time!”)
- The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished: “I memorized all of the Pokémon (through Gen 6) when I was little. Names, type match-ups, moves, you name it!”
- Has learned by competing in distance running “the importance of being strong mentally. Physically, our bodies can handle long-distance running just fine. It’s the obstacles in your head telling you that what you're doing is crazy, saying that you’re hurting, or the little voice doubting you can do it that limits you”
- Enjoys watching anime and reading Manga when she has some free time
- Considers cooking her biggest non-sports talent (“So far while I’ve been at college, I've tried out dozens of recipes and they usually turn out very well”)
- Can play the piano
- Loves to analyze the media she watches/reads
- Has started recording audiobooks for herself for fun (“I love acting, having participated in theatre during elementary school and middle school, and recording audiobooks is a great outlet”)
- At the top of her bucket list: “Travel anywhere outside the United States. Germany, India, Japan, and Thailand are all destinations I’d love to go to”
- Best advice ever received: “The things you tell yourself become your reality”
- Majoring in mathematics
- Plans to use her math skills to work at a business and/or become a researcher (“I’m also considering teaching at some point!”).
