Personal
Born July 1, in Roseville…Daughter of Steven and Stephanie…Has two siblings, Thomas and her twin Annalise, who she consider her hero (“She has overcome many obstacles to pursue her collegiate running goals. She is also very cool!”)…The person she most admires in the sports world is Olympic sprinter/hurdler Sydney McLaughlin (“She seemed to have an amazing mindset before her Olympic hurdle race, and ended up beating the all-time record. As amazing as that is, my favorite thing about her is that she seems like she has great sportsmanship, which I find admirable”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Concepts and Structures of Mathematics, taught by Dr. Kat Strand…Why she chose to attend Chico State: “My parents went there and absolutely loved it, and I was sold once I learned about how close the track team was. One of my high school track assistant coaches is an alumni of the team ,and she talked to me about her experience, and how the team was like a family”…Her greatest sports moment was giving her all in her final high school 400m competition, and despite falling down at the finish line, got up and finished fifth, then shook off her injury to post a personal best time in the meet’s 4x400m relay…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is go on a mission trip to Mexico where she took care of low income children while their parents were at work (“It was an unforgettable experience”)…The most impressive thing she’s ever done is overcome her stage fright by pushing herself to get up and talk in front of a big group of people…Has learned by running track to “always get back up when you fall, always have a good mindset, and appreciate what you have”…Enjoys painting when she has some free time…Considers making time for other people and being a good listener her biggest non-sport talents…Was nearly born on different months than her twin sister (“We were born close to midnight on July 1”), and actually has twin uncles who were born on different days…Best advice ever received came from her father: “Comparison is the thief of joy”…Majoring in liberal studies…Plans to continue her education and pursue a graduate degree.
