Named to the CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll.
2019–20
Transferred to Chico State for the spring 2020 semester, and competed in one race during the track & field season, finishing fifth in the 5k (18:01.98) March 7 at the Kim Duyst Invitational.
Pre-Chico Days
Ran track for two years at Sierra College in Rocklin…Placed third in the 5k (18:56.98) at the 2019 Big 8 Conference Championships…Followed that performance with a fourth place finish (18:56.54) in the NorCal Championships 5k run…Four-year letterwinner in both cross country and track at Granite Bay High School…Twice qualified for the State Cross Country Championships…On the track, capture the Sierra Foothill League championship in the 1,600m.

Born May 23, 1999, in Roseville…Daughter of Kim Handy…Has two siblings, Jonah and her fraternal twin, Alina…The people she most admires in the sports world are Olympic distance runners Shalane Flanagan (“She is an incredible athlete with many other talents. She maintains her running life now as a coach but also makes time for her family and business endeavors. She is the future of female coaches”) and Des Linden (“She is honest and humble with her fans. She races with true grit and always says ‘keep showing up’”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Consumer Behavior, taught by Professor Robert Madrigal…Why she chose to attend Chico State: “I fell in love with campus and the team. I wanted to be close to home in a supportive college town”…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is prepare a five-course Downton Abbey-themed dinner…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is taking a full class load, working an internship, and running PR’s in the same year…Has learned by running cross country that “success is not linear. Keep showing up, and your hard work will pay off in the long run”…Enjoys cooking and baking, traveling and hiking mountains when she has some free time…At the top of her bucket list: “Go to a Michelin star restaurant in Paris”…Best advice ever received came from Des Linden: “Keep Showing up” (“She did not directly give it to me because I do not directly know her, but I found her words very inspiring during hard times”)…Majoring in business administration…Plans a career working in higher education or software project management.
