2019–20
Began the 2019 XC season with a 65th place finish at the Stump Invitational (25:26.7)…Set a new PR time of 22:13.3 on the way to a 10th place finish at the Capital Cross Challenge…Placed 37th (23:05.8) at the Western Washington Classic…Wrapped up the year with a 31st place finish (23:16.8) at the CCAA Championships…Did not run during the 2020 track & field season.
2018–19
Redshirted in cross country before running in uniform during the spring track season…Opened the fall with a 103rd place run at the Capital Cross Challenge, recording a 23:15 time for the 6k layout…Ran a 6k PR of 22:22 while taking 18th place in the Open race at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational…Concluded the cross country season with a fifth place run at the Doc Adams Invitational in Davis…On the track, recorded times of 5:06 in the 1,500m and 19:00 in the 5,000m at the Wildcat Invitational…Lowered her 5k personal best with an 18:22 run at the Sacramento State Hornet Invitational…Posted an impressive 10k debut at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, stopping the clock with a PR time of 36:41 and just missing the NCAA provisional qualifying standard…Delivered a 1500m PR time of 4:52 at the Chico Twilight Invitational… Narrowly missed the CCAA Championship podium in the 10k, placing fourth at 37:54…Doubled back the following day, finishing the season with an impressive 5k PR time of 18:11…Earned 2018–19 CCAA All-Academic honors.
Pre-Chico Days
Began college career at University of Nevada, Reno, but did not compete in 2017…A standout runner at Buena High School in Ventura, earning multiple All-Channel League and All-Ventura County honors…Two-time top-10 finisher at the Channel League Cross Country Championships…As a senior recorded a personal best time of 19:08 at the Clovis Invitational…On the track, placed fourth in the 3,200m at the Channel League finals…In 2016, broke her mom’s 30-year old school record in the three-mile run (17:47).
Personal
Born October 15, 1998, in Ventura…Daughter of Troy and Michele…Has one younger brother, Gavin…The people she most admires in the sports world are distance runners Shalane Flanagan and Sarah Hall (“because they are tough, consistent, and ladies who run with total heart”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Microbiology, taught by Patricia Edelmann…Chose to attend Chico State “because of its community environment. I like that I can walk downtown right from campus and feel right at home. I love that I can run from campus to the park and there are so many trails to explore in Upper Park”…Her greatest sports moment was running her first 10K at the San Francisco Distance Carnival “and feeling so strong and confident”)…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is “the first time I ever went to the Grand Canyon, I hiked rim to rim with my mom in less than hours! We also have summited several mountains together in Southern California”…Has learned by running cross country to “work hard, stay consistent, and have fun!”…Enjoys going backpacking, bike riding, paddleboarding, swimming, chasing sunsets, and summiting mountains when she has some free time…Is really good at woodworking…Plays the piano (“but not very well”)…Can speak, read, and write fluently in both Spanish and English…At the top of her bucket list: “Summit the highest peaks in each state”…Best advice ever received came from her dad: “Focus: one word, two syllables, five letters, and own it”…Majoring in exercise physiology and Spanish…Hopes to become a physician’s assistant and work in women's health (“I have always wanted to deliver babies and help women get the care they need”).
