2019–20
Opened the 2019 campaign with a 16th place finish at the Stump Invitational, with a time of 22:38.9…Bettered her existing career PR by posting a 21:44.8 at the Capital Cross Challenge…Placed 16th at the Western Washington Classic (22:26.9)…Earned All-CCAA honors with a 10th place finish (22:39.7) at the conference championships, helping the Wildcats win their 12th straight CCAA title…Shattered her personal best 6k effort with a time of 21:28.7 at the NCAA West Regionals, placing 26th overall…Finished the XC season with a 22:41 time at the NCAA Championships…Did not run during the 2020 track & field season.
 
2018–19
Began the 2018 cross country season with a 22:34 run at the Capital Cross Challenge, placing 52nd overall…Finished 91st at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational with a 21:59 6k mark…Earned her first All-CCAA cross country honor with a 12th place finish (22:04) at the conference championships…A 23rd place finish at the West Regional earned the sophomore her first All-West Region honor and helped the women’s team to their 19th straight NCAA Championship berth….Finished the fall with a somewhat disappointing outing at nationals, placing 103rd overall….On the track, opened the spring with an 11:03 3k steeple time and a fourth place finish at the Hornet Invitational…Notched a near-PR 10:44 steeple mark at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic…Recorded a personal best time in the 1,500 at the Chico Twilight Invitational, stopping the clock at 4:45…Despite 90 degree temperatures, managed a 10:50 steeple time at the Bryan Clay Invitational…Concluded the season with a very impressive showing at the CCAA Championships, winning the steeple (10:43) and placing third in the 5k (17:45), earning a pair of All-CCAA honors…Boynton’s CCAA win made her the fifth straight Wildcat to stand atop the steeple podium at the conference championship meet.
 
2017-18
Emerged as a crucial part of the program’s present and future as a redshirt freshman…Placed 133rd at the Riverside Invitational...Finished 81st at the Capital Cross Challenge with a time of 22:46…The sixth Wildcat to cross the line at the Western Washington Invitational, finishing 26th overall…Placed 22nd in her first CCAA Championships run, missing All-CCAA by just five seconds…An alternate going into the NCAA West Regional Championship, Boynton was plugged into the lineup in the days leading up to the race and made the most of her opportunity by placing 30th in the regional, scoring for the team, and helping score the team’s automatic NCAA championships team berth (third place)…Earned a spot on the NCAA Championships roster with her regional effort and again played a crucial role in the Wildcats’ success, placing 70th overall and concluding the team’s scoring, helping nail down a fourth-place podium finish…Continued her huge year on the track…Opened the season with a 1,500-meter PR of 4:50 at the Wildcat Invitational…Debuted in the steeplechase with an impressive 11:14 effort at the Hornet Invitational…Dipped under the 11-minute threshold (10:58) while placing 20th at the San Francisco Distance Carnival in just her second attempt at the 3k steeplechase…Posted a 5k PR of 17:51 to finish second at the Chico Distance Carnival…A 10:42 steeplechase PR at the Bryan Clay Invitational made her the fourth fastest barrier runner in the history of the program and qualified her for the NCAA Championships…Raced to a stout 10:47/17:30 double in the steeplechase and 5k events at the CCAA Championships…Placed third in the steeplechase (to earn All-CCAA honors) and fifth in the 5k…Placed fourth in the steeplechase at the Portland Last Chance meet in a time of 10:46…Concluded the season with a 17th place 10:51 run at the NCAA Championships…Earned USTFCCCA All-West Region honors in the steeple.

2016-17
Redshirted during the cross country and track and field seasons.

Pre-Chico Days
Helped lead Lodi High School to four consecutive Tri Cities Athletic League cross country championships…Holds the school record in the 5k XC run (18:16)…Won her race at the Mt. SAC Invitational while running a 19:03 PR on the 6k course…On the track, ran an 11:13 for 3,200m at the Sac-Joaquin Championships during her junior season…As a senior recorded a 5:04 in the 1,600m event at the same meet, placing fifth overall…Three-time TCAL champion in the 800m and 1,600m events…Won four consecutive league titles in the two-mile run…Named the Flames’ team MVP three times in both cross country and track.
 
Personal
Born July 25, 1998 in Lodi…Daughter of Steve and Barbara…Has one older brother, Jake…The person she most admires in the sports world is 2017 World Championship steeplechase runner Emma Colburn (“She is a very talented and humble athlete”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Ag Policy, taught by Christine Carroll…Why she chose to attend Chico State: “The cross country and track team is very talented and family-oriented”…Her greatest sports moment was “running around and cheering on the (Chico State men’s cross country team) at nationals in Sacramento last season and being in awe with how many people showed up to cheer us on”…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is “throwing a saddle on the Wildcat”…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is qualifying as a redshirt freshman to compete in the steeplechase at the NCAA Track & Field Championships…Has learned by running cross country to “not be too hard on yourself if you have a bad workout or race. We have bad days and that is all right”…Enjoys riding horses, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, and shopping…Has actually been riding horses longer than she has been a runner…At the top of her bucket list: “Riding horses on the beach”…Best advice ever received came from the Bible, 1 Corinthians 16:13: “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong”…Majoring in agriculture business…Planning to pursue a career as an equine therapist.
