2020
Competed in one event at the March 6 Kim Duyst Invitational prior to the cancellation of the 2020 track & field season…Finished 12th in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.38 seconds…Earned 2019–20 CCAA All-Academic honors.
 
Pre-Chico Days
A 2019 graduate of CORE Butte Charter High School in Chico…Helped lead the Lynx to a pair of Mountain Valley League titles and the 2017 Northern Section Division IV championship…Won the 300m MTVL and Division IV Championship titles as a senior…In 2018, took top MTVL honors in the 100m dash, 100m and 300m hurdles, and finished first at the Division IV Championships in the 100m and 300m hurdles, and long jump…Placed first in the long jump at both the 2017 MTVL and Division IV Championship meets, as was part of the MTVL’s top 4x100m relay team…Earned All-MTVL honors in basketball…Competed in the 200m dash and high jump over the course of her four year varsity career…Also lettered in soccer.
 
Personal
Born July 22, 2001, in Chico…Daughter of Donald and Karen…Has two older siblings, Bradley and Anna…The person she most admires in the sports world is Olympic distance runner and World War II veteran Louis Zamperini (“He qualified for the 1936 Olympics in Berlin and set a lap record. Not only is his athletic story outstanding to me, but he was in World War II, was a POW in Japan and was stranded at sea for 47 days. He suffered from postwar PTSD and resented the men who held him and others prisoners and mistreated them. But he attended a Rev. Billy Graham crusade and became a born-again Christian, went and forgave the Japanese soldiers in person and began to live his life again”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Introduction to Adapted Physical Activity, taught by Marci Pope…Chose to attend Chico State “because I loved how the track team was like family and everyone so nice. I was also born and raised in Chico and I’ve always loved Chico and the beauty it has”…Her greatest sports moments: setting her high school’s long jump record, and running her first 100m hurdle race as a collegiate athlete…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is go abalone diving in Mendocino, California…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is joining the Chico State track team, running her first 100m hurdle race as a collegiate athlete, and making it on the academic Deans Honors list at the same time…Has learned by competing in track & field that “I must fully believe in myself to be successful”…Enjoys going on hikes with her fiancé and Golden Retriever Poppy when she has some free time…Says that next to sports, her biggest talent is being a fast learner…Possesses a brown belt in Shorin Ryu Shorinkan karate…At the top of her bucket list: “Going surfing in Hawaii”…Majoring in kinesiology…Plans to become a personal trainer and ultimately own her own gym.
