2020
Competed in two events at the March 6 Kim Duyst Invitational prior to the cancellation of the 2020 track & field season…Finished ninth in the 400m hurdles (1:14.11) and 17th in the 100m hurdles (20.19 seconds)…Earned 2020 CCAA Spring All-Academic honors.
 
Pre-Chico Days
Began her college career spending two years in the Cal State Monterey Bay track & field program, competing in the 200m and 400m dash, and the 4x400m relay…Also ran cross country for the Otters in 2017…A 2017 graduate of Sacramento Charter High School…Finished first in the 400m dash and as part of the Dragons’ 4x400m relay team at the 2015 Metro League Championships…Also competed in the 100m, 200m, and 400m dash, 800m and 3,200m run, and 4x100m and 4x200m relay over the course of her four varsity seasons.
 
Personal
Born October 30, 1999, in Sacramento…Daughter of Yvette Overton…Has two older siblings, Ynouche and Elijah…Her mother is her hero (“I admire watching her conquer all faces of adversity”)…The person she most admires in the sports world is her godfather (“He has helped train me and support me throughout my years of running”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Microbiology, taught by Patricia Edelmann…Why she chose to attend Chico State: “It felt like a home away from home”…Her greatest sports moment is running the 4x400 relay in the rain…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is finding a hidden waterfall during a hike…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is take 18 units of classes, hold a job, and compete in a sport at the same time…Has learned by competing in track & field that “you have to be mentally strong to succeed under any circumstances”…Enjoys watching horror films when she has some free time…Lists yoga as one of her biggest non-sport talents…Likes to go mountain biking…At the top of her bucket list: “Hike Mt. Everest”…Best advice ever received came from former Wildcat track & field teammate Mackenzie Deeter: “Focus on what you can control”…Majoring in exercise physiology…Plans a career as a women’s health nurse practitioner.
