Pre-Chico Days
Transfer from Yuba College in Yuba City…Competed for two seasons as a member of the 49ers track & field program…Posted three personal records in 2021: shot put (10.51 meters), discus (35.13 meters), and hammer throw (46.71 meters)…A 2019 graduate of Yuba City High School…Competed in shot put and discus during her four varsity seasons…During her senior year, finished first in the discus May 1, 2019 at the Capital Valley Conference finals.

Born on March 27, 2001, in Yuba City…Daughter of Leonardo and Maria…Has one older sibling, Marco…Her grandmother on her father’s side is her hero (“She has done so much for her family and is always trying to work even though she no longer needs to. She is the kind of strong that I hope to be when I am her age”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Methods of Proof, taught by Brian Lindaman…Why she chose to attend Chico State: “I have always really enjoyed the feel and atmosphere of Chico State. In High School I was part of the Upward Bound program, and after spending three amazing summers at Chico State, I really enjoyed the campus. Chico State gave me the best vibe, the atmosphere here felt chill and accepting. Thus, after considering that and the majors here, I decided to come to Chico”…Her greatest sports moment is “the sportsmanship—getting to know the athletes and other teams she competes with—that comes with the sports”…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is go to Germany as part of high school exchange program in high school (“I stayed with an amazing family and had three weeks weeks to learn and see the beauty, history, and culture of a beautiful location”)…Has learned through competing in track & field that “the result is not always the best thing about something”…Enjoys reading, crafting, and making interactive cards when she has some free time…Considers crafting her biggest non-sports talent…At the top of her bucket list: “Traveling the world or skydiving”…The best advice she’s ever received has come from many people: “First take care of yourself, and then everything else”…Majoring in math education…Plans to become a high school math teacher for high school, then work towards a PhD degree in mathematics to become a university professor.
