Did not compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic…Named to the CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll…Received the 2020–21 Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.
Pre-Chico Days
Competed for two seasons at Moorpark College…Received Moorpark College Hall of Fame accolades for the heptathlon (2018, 2020), pole vault (2020), and javelin (2020)…Took top honors in the long jump and triple jump at the 2020 Western State Conference South Meet…A 2017 graduate of La Reina High School in Thousand Oaks…Lettered in both track & field and cross country.

Born March 15, 1999, in Simi Valley…Daughter of Eric and Judy…Has two siblings, Amanda and Eric…Her hero is Julie Flygare, who at the age of 22 and in the midst of law school, was diagnosed with narcolepsy (“I was inspired by her story after reading her book Wide Awake and Dreaming: A Memoir of Narcolepsy…The person she most admires in the sports world is heptathlete Chari Hawkins “because of her positive attitude and love for track & field”…Favorite course at Chico State is Genetics, taught by Dr. Kristen Gorman…Chose to attend Chico State “because of the immense support I felt from the coaching staff. I felt this same level of support from all of my professors and any faculty I interacted with. It is truly a family environment and I am happy to be part of the Chico State Ohana”…Her favorite sports moment was the Chico State 2021 intrasquad meet (“After nearly two years of sparse training and no competitions, this was a refreshing welcome back to track & field. The team was energetic and supportive all week and the event culminated in a 4x400 relay which everyone participated in. It bonded the team and got everyone excited for the upcoming season”)…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is undergraduate research for the Gorman Lab…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is learning seven new track & field events in college…Has learned by competing in track & field that “failure is a crucial part of finding success. I believe if you have not had any failures on the way to your goals, then your goals have not been set high enough. Your ability to continue trying after a failure is what will make you a successful person”…Enjoys hiking, reading, and going to the beach when she has some free time…Considers parallel parking her biggest non-sports talent…Has been collecting vinyl records for over six years…At the top of her bucket list: “To live in a foreign country for a significant period of time”…Best advice ever received came from her dad: “Work your hardest at everything you do, and keep a positive mindset when obstacles come your way”…Majoring in cellular and molecular biology…Plans to continue her studies by attending medical school.
