Competed in two events during the shortened 2020 track & field season, placing first in the pole vault (3.50m) and 13th in the javelin (25.95m) at the March 6, 2020 Kim Duyst Invitational.
Pre-Chico Days
Competed at Long Beach State in 2019…Posted personal best vault of 3.95m April 26, 2019 at the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational…Ranks among Long Beach State’s top 10 pole vaulters…Began college career at Moorpark College, competing in the pole vault, javelin, discus, shot put, hammer, high jump, long jump, 100m dash, and 4x400m relay…Earned 2018 All-America and First Team Western State Conference honors…Holds Moorpark’s school pole vault record (3.53m)…Placed fourth in the pole vault at the CCCAA State Championships…A 2018 graduate of Westlake High School in Westlake Village…Did not compete in track & field in high school.

Born June 14, 1996, in Chengdu, China…Daughter of Stephen and Kitty…Has six siblings: Laura, Matthew, Sam, Thy, Peter, and Alex…The person she most admires in the sports world is gymnast Simone Bile (“She inspires young athletes to achieve more than they think they can”)…Chose to attend Chico State “in order to continue my athletic and academic journey. The team, coaches, and athletic staff made my recruiting process an experience to remember. Any individuals that took as much time and effort as Chico State did, was the school I wanted to go to”…Her greatest sports moment is coaching gymnastics…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is transferring from a community college to a four-year university …Has learned by competing in track & field that “if you want results, no one will hand them to you. Good results come from hard work, perseverance, and a good attitude”…Enjoys snowboarding, gymnastics, and kayaking when she has some free time…Can do a backflip on a balance beam…Was adopted from China; she has two younger brothers adopted from China, and another younger brother adopted from Vietnam…At the top of her bucket list: “Seeing the Northern Lights”…Best advice ever received: “Be the best you can be”…Majoring in kinesiology…Plans a career as a gymnastics coach.
