Personal
Born December 18, 2000, in Dublin…Daughter of Kathy and David…Has one younger sibling, Ashley…Her mother is her hero (“She has been forced to overcome a lot of diversity in her life being the child of non-English speaking immigrant parents. She has taught me many lessons, with the most important being how to become a responsible and grounded adult”…The person she most admires in sports is Olympic gold medal hurdler Sydney McLaughlin (“I have followed her career since the beginning, as her career began the same year that I began running track doing the same events. I admire her dedication and passion to the sport and feel that she is a true student of the sport, which is what I aspire to be”)…Chose to attend Chico State “because of the availability of my major, the beautiful campus, proximity to home, and the track possibility it offered. After being part of a team here, I have no doubts that I made the right choice”...Favorite course at Chico State is Theories of Justice with Professor Sue Hilderbrand…Her greatest sports moment is winning the CCAA Women’s League championship at my junior college. We had been well on our way to achieving that title in 2020 until the world was shut down. It was an amazing feeling being able to see that goal through a year later with less than a third of our original team and half the preparation time. It made me so proud of my small team and how hard we all worked”…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is go cliff-jumping off the Mediterranean coast on a trip to Italy…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is design and construct all of the costumes by herself in just five weeks for her school’s production of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe…Has learned by competing in track & field that “the biggest competition that you will ever face will always be the competition with yourself”…Enjoys hiking and anything that involves being outdoors when she has some free time…Considers acting her biggest non-sport talent (“I have been a part of the theater for eight years and has been in 14 different productions”)…Loves to swim and challenges herself to see how long she can tread water…At the top of her bucket list: “To travel through Europe”…The best advice she’s ever received came from her English professor at junior college: “If you are the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room”…Majoring in criminal justice…Plans to either transfer to law school or enter the police academy to pursue her childhood dream of detective work.
