Biography
The 2021–22 season marks Kelly’s second year in the Wildcats’ program.
Pre-Chico Highlights:
A 2020 graduate of Foothill Technology High School in Ventura…Three-time First Team All-League selection…Helped lead the Dragons to four straight undefeated league championships and a fourth place finish in the 2019 CIF Championships…Finished second among all individual league golfers as a junior, third during her senior year, and fifth as a sophomore…Earned three All-League academic honors…Ranked among the top six players in the Santa Barbara Junior Golf Tour for three consecutive years.
Personal:
Born November 22, 2001, in Ventura…Daughter of Mike and Natalie…Has one older brother, Dylan…Her hero is LPGA golfer Kelly Korda (“I admire her passion for the game of golf and she inspires me to go the extra mile”)…The person she most admires in the sports world is Rickie Fowler (“He is a great golfer and he works hard on his golf game constantly”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Digital Art, taught by John Pozzi…Why she chose to attend Chico State: “The beautiful campus, and I loved the energy of the women’s golf team”…Her greatest sports moment was when she chipped in for birdie from a bunker…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is “get the chance to understand how a business works in the world thanks to my entrepreneurship class I took my senior year in high school”…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished was raising money in her high school entrepreneurship class for a watering system for a school in need of fresh water…Has learned by playing golf to “never give up after a bad hole”…Enjoys spending time with friends “and catching up with each other”)…She considers one of her top talents to be able to pick up another sport very quickly…Used to play of a travel softball, basketball, and soccer team from middle school through high school…At the top of her bucket list: “Travel around the world”…Best advice ever received came from her high school private coach Lee Martin: “Focus more on golf then other distractions in life”…Majoring in business information systems…Hopes to work for a successful company and then eventually own her own business.
