Biography
A three time All-West Region runner and returning track All -American, Sarah will be a major factor in the Wildcats success in 2007. Since her arrival on the Chico State campus as a freshman, Montez has enjoyed great success. As a junior in cross country Sarah finished second at the CCAA championships and earned her third All-Region honor two weeks later. Her top-50 NCAA finish helped the ‘Cats to their fifth straight top-10 finish. On the track Sarah picked up where she’d left off in the fall, clocking PR’s for 1500m, 3,000m, and 5,000m, eventually earning All-American honors in the 3k. At the CCAA championships Montez recorded her first CCAA individual title in stunning fashion while winning the 1500m with a 2:17 final 800m. With an amazing summer of training behind her and four years of college running experience, Montez has set the bar high for her senior year.
