Pre-Chico Days
Ran cross country and track for Clayton Valley Charter High School in Concord…A two-time top 20 finisher at the North Coast Section Championships…Recorded an 18:46 3-mile PR at the 2017 edition of the meet…Earned a pair of All-Diablo Valley League awards, including First Team status in 2017–18…Named cross country team MVP in 2017 and 2018…On the track, notched impressive 5:16 and 11:29 PRs for the 1,600m and 3,200m distances…Qualified for the 2019 North Coast Section/Tri-Valley Championship in both the 1,600m and 3,200m…Named the track team’s Best Distance Runner in 2018 and 2019…Lacked a senior season due to the COVID shutdown.

Born January 14, 2003, in Anaheim…Daughter of William Schauman and Elizabeth Koch-Schauman…Has one younger sister, Abigail…Her dad is her hero (“He works very hard at his job, but also always made time to run and coach me since I was little in soccer and running”)…Why she chose to attend Chico State: “I like the area where the school is located. I also really liked the philosophy program that is offered along with the psychology program, as I intend to double major”…Her biggest sports moment was qualifying for the 2019 North Coast Section/Tri-Valley Championships (1,600m and 3,200m) as a high school sophomore…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is passing some of her advanced placement exams…Has learned by running cross country that “hard work pays off not only in sports but in all aspects of life”…Enjoys writing poetry and spending time with friends…Loves to draw, and says that is her biggest talent outside of running…At the top of her bucket list: “Becoming a psychiatrist”…Majoring in philosophy and psychology.
