Personal
Born November 2, 2002, in Bel Air, Maryland…Daughter of Len Loff and Jessica Hughes…Has two younger siblings, Langston and Vivian…Her high school coach Ivan Huff is her hero (“Without him I would not be where I am today. Saying that I was a difficult athlete to work with when I was starting out is an understatement, but he stuck with me and pushed me to be the best I could be”)…The person she most admires in the sports world is distance runner Grayson Murphy (“because of her hard work and dedication. Although she didn’t start out her athletic career as a runner she’s shown incredible talent in both trail running and on the track. Her perseverance is a constant motivator for my personal athletic efforts”)…Chose to attend Chico State “because my close friend’s older brother was a cross country runner, and she would constantly tell me about the team and how much they seemed like a family”…Her greatest sports moment was her 70th place finish in the Division II CIF State meet (“I had fallen at the first mile marker of the race, but I was still able to set a personal record of 18:57.8”)…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is be the owner of a 1993 Pontiac Firebird (her first car)…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is her perseverance in life (“Even when the odds were stacked against me, I’ve been able to constantly find a way to continue to push through and better myself through hardships”)…Has learned by running cross country that “comparison is your best friend and worst enemy. You need to know the difference between healthy competition and over obsession. It’s a balance that has taught me a lot about myself and the world around me”…Enjoys playing Call of Duty when she can fit it into her day…Says her biggest talents outside of running are drawing and painting…Admits “I’ll always turn my head to look at a cool car, but if a friend honks at me on a run I couldn’t tell you who they were”…At the top of her bucket list: “Complete a 100-mile race”…Best advice ever received she attributes to a daily horoscope app: “No one person, relationship, or experience can provide you with the stability you need right now”…Majoring in business marketing…Plans a career as a marketing manager for a small business.
