2017–18
Summer injuries forced a late seasonal debut…Opened the cross country campaign at the CCAA Championships, placing seventh overall and earning All-CCAA honors…Sat out the regional championships to focus on training for the NCAA Championships…Her 11th place finish at nationals earned Garcia her first cross country All-American honor, and was the best finish by a Wildcat in the history of the program…Her efforts propelled the Wildcats to their third straight fourth place team finish at the NCAA Championships…Did not compete in the spring track & field season…Received two CCAA All-Academic awards…Named to both the CoSIDA/Google Chrome Academic All-District and All-America Track & Field/Cross Country Team…Earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country honors.
2016–17
Opened her first season of cross country with the 'Cats with a fourth place finish at the Humboldt Invitational despite battling sickness…After passing on the two remaining invitationals on the schedule, finished as runner-up at the CCAA Championships…Placed sixth at the NCAA West Region Championships, helping the Wildcats capture the team title…Despite battling a tough case of influenza in the days leading up to the NCAA Championships, she concluded the season with a gutsy 50th place finish, helping to secure the ’Cats’ trophy finish…Sat out track season due to injury…Two-time CCAA All-Academic selection…Named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country Team…Received Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award…Earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country honors.
2015–16
Redshirted the cross country campaign…While running unattached placed fourth overall at the Stanford Invitational, clocking a 20:49 finish time for the 6k course…Won the Doc Adams Invitational with a PR 20:39…Concluded fall season with a third place finish at the PA USATF Championships…On the track, made her official collegiate debut at the San Francisco Distance Carnival, posting a 16:40 5k PR (fifth fastest in Chico State history)…Made her 10k debut at the Mt. SAC Invitational, with a time of 34:47 placing her (at the time) second all-time in the Wildcat record books…Won the CCAA 5k title with a 16:48 effort…Earned her first All- America honor at the NCAA Championships with a fifth place finish in the 10k (35:05)…Bounced back with a 17th place effort in the 5k final two nights later…Named to the CCAA Spring All-Academic Team and the conference’s All-Academic Team for the 2015–16 academic year…Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award winner…Named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team.
Pre-Chico Days
Competed at the University of Mississippi in 2013 and was part of the Southern Utah cross country program in 2014…A 2013 graduate of Oakmont High School in Roseville…Earned four letters for both cross country and track…Two-time Foot Locker All-American…Placed fifth at the 2011 Foot Locker National Cross Country Championships and 15th in 2009…Runner-up at the 2011 California Cross Country Championships and placed fourth in 2009…Set school records in the 3,200-meter run (10:40.99) and 5K cross country (17:09).
