Chico State Athletics

Although small in stature Kara Lubieniecki came up big for the ‘Cats in 2007, running to some fine finishes and scoring at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.  A standout while prepping at Bear Creek High in Colorado, Lubieniecki made her way to Chico State due to the strong biology department and the reputation of the Chico State cross country program.  Lubieniecki immediately jumped into the Wildcat lineup and became a scoring runner. She finished among the top 10 in both the Chico and Bob Firman Invites and would go on to finish 22nd in the region and 81st at the NCAA championships.  On the track she recorded provisional NCAA marks in both the 3,000m and the 5,000m events.  With a very solid freshman season under her belt Lubieniecki appears ready to take the step forward in search of her first All American finish.
