2016-2017
Dorman’s junior year was without a doubt a huge breakthrough window...Opened the season with a 24th place finish at the Humboldt Invitational…The Wildcats' 4th finisher at the Capital Cross Challenge placing 40th overall in a 21:38 PR for the 6k distance…Finished 17th at the Triton Invitational, helping the team to a runner-up finish…Earned her first All-CCAA honor with an 8th place finish at the conference championships...An 18th place finish at the West Region Championships helped the ‘Cats to the team title, and her first All-Region honor…The 'Cats' second finisher at the NCAA Championships where she placed 46th overall and helped the team to a fourth place podium finish...Took the fall momentum into the spring season while re-writing her PR list as well as the school’s top-10 PR lists in the distance events...Opened the season with a 4:40 1500-meter PR at the Wildcat Invitational…Ran a 10:00 3k PR in the team’s early season time trial…Cut a minute off her 5k PR with a 16:55 run at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival...Narrowly missed a victory in the 1500 meters at the Chico Twilight Invitational while recording a 4:36 PR over 1500 meters…In her debut at the 10k distance, Dorman won her heat at the Mt. SAC Relays with the school’s second fastest time ever (34:46)…Continued her winning ways at the CCAA Championships, capturing the thrilling 5k final by less than a second while lowering her 5k PR to 16:45—the school’s 7th fastest 5k ever…Running in her first NCAA Track and Field Championships, Dorman finished 4th in the 10k final, earning her first All-America award in the process.
2015-16
Opened the 2015 season with a 30th place finish at the Ash Creek Invitational…Finished 73rd out of 250 runners at the Stanford Invitational…Concluded regular season with a 45th place effort at the San Francisco State Invitational…An injury prevented a CCAA Championships run…Concluded XC season with a third place finish at the Doc Adams Invitational and was the ’Cats alternate for the NCAA Championship team…Raced sparingly on the track due to a recurrence of the fall injury…Did manage an 18:06 5k at the West Coast Last Chance Invitational.
2014-15
Finished 12th at the Willow Hills Open…Placed 39th at the Willamette Invitational, finishing the 5k course in 18:59…Placed 13th in the open race at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational…Concluded fall season with a win at UC Davis’ Doc Adams Invitational…On the track, cracked the 18-minute barrier for the first time in the 5k at the Johnny Mathis Invitational, stopping the clock in 17:55...Recorded a 1-second PR in the 5k at the San Francisco Distance Carnival…Ran to a 1500-meter PR of 4:50.02 at the Chico Twilight Invitational…Placed 11th in the CCAA Championships 5k final.
2013-14
Missed the cross country season due to injury…Opened her track season with an impressive 10:38 3k at the Humboldt Invitational…Recorded a 4:59 debut in the 1500 meters at the Wildcat Invitational…Ran an 18:41 5k at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival…The remainder of the season was lost to injury.
Pre-Chico Days
A prep standout at West Valley High School in Cottonwood…Finished among the top three overall in the 2009, 2010 and 2011 North Section Cross Country Championships while establishing herself as one of the premier distance runners in the North State...Placed 18th overall at the 2011 State Cross Country Championships as a junior...On the track Dorman enjoyed similar success, running to a section title in the 1600 her senior year and qualifying for the state championships...Her 1600 and 3200m PR’s, run during her senior season, both rank among the top-15 on the all-time North Section best list.
