Biography
Pre-Chico Days
– Competed in cross country and track & field at Twelve Bridges High School in Lincoln, California
– Three-year varsity runner in cross country, earning MVP honors twice
– Served as team captain for one season
– Qualified for the state cross country meet, placing 18th
– On the track, was a team captain and competed at high-profile invitationals including the Stanford Invitational, Dublin Fiesta Night Meet, and Sacramento Meet of Champions
– Also competed in club track, qualifying for the Junior Olympics twice
Personal
– Born June 19 in Walla Walla, Washington
– Daughter of Waldo Solis and Adian Strasser
– Has four sisters: Alyssa, Taylor, Natilee, and Addi
– Has three brothers: Parker, Andy, and Wyatt
– Majoring in nursing with a minor in pre-nursing
– Expected to graduate in 2030
– Plans to work in a hospital neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) after graduation
– Greatest sports moments include nearly breaking 18 minutes in the 5k at the state cross country meet her senior year and going under 11 minutes in the two-mile
– Chose Chico State for its strong nursing program, welcoming coaches, and supportive campus environment
– Lists debating and purposeful arguing, as well as volunteering at animal shelters and nursing homes, among her best talents
– Best advice received from Coach Kent: “You know how it feels to lose, so fight to win. Practice until you can’t feel your legs anymore, because it feels amazing to win. Practice like nothing else matters, and run like your dreams are at the finish line”
