One of eight true freshmen on the Wildcats’ roster…Pre-Chico Days: A 2021 graduate of Pioneer High School in San Jose…Posted 34 wins and struck out 362 batters over her four-year prep career…Helped lead Mustangs to the 2019 CIF Central Coast Section Division II championship (as the starting pitcher for all postseason game) and the 2021 CCS Open Division semifinals…Earned Hamilton Valley League Pitcher of the Year honors as a senior…Named team MVP in 2018…Personal: Born July 24, 2003, in Mountain View…Daughter of Mark Bajan and Miyuki Takeda-Bajan…Has one older sister, Mia…Her mom is her hero (“She has always taken me to all of my tournaments and has supported me throughout my life”)…The person she most admires in the sports world is Clayton Kershaw (“He has stayed loyal to the Dodgers during his career, and has been one of the best pitchers in the game. I look up to him because he is very dominant and an amazing pitcher”)…Why she chose to attend Chico State: “I love the campus and community. I also chose Chico because of the softball team and the reputation they have being one of the top D-II softball programs”…Her greatest sports moment was winning the Central Coast Section championship in high school (“It was an unforgettable experience and it was really cool to be the starting pitcher for all of the postseason games”)…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is swim with the turtles in Hawaii…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is throwing a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts…Has learned through playing softball to “never give up. Throughout a game, whether you are losing or winning, you never give up until the game is over”…Enjoys watching TV, relaxing, and spending time with friends and family…Considers cooking her biggest non-softball talent…Is very close to her grandparents and cousins on her mom’s side of the family…At the top of her bucket list: “Visit another country.
