Biography

Third year in the Wildcats’ program…Appeared in 13 games for the Wildcats as a true freshman in 2020, including four starts…Delivered a base hit in her first career Chico State at-bat, then stole home January 31, 2020 vs. Western Washington at the Concordia Kickoff Classic…Two-time CCAA All-Academic selection…Received 2020–21 Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award…Pre-Chico Days: A 2019 graduate of Del Campo High School in Fair Oaks…Helped lead the Cougars to three straight Capital Athletic League titles…Batted .433 as a senior to earn Sacramento Bee Second Team All-Metro honors…Personal: Born March 1, 2001, in Sacramento…Daughter of Susan Gallagher…Has three older siblings: Matt, Samantha, and Joe…Her mom is her hero (“because she plays both roles of mom and dad in my life, and I don’t know where I’d be without her”…The person she most admires in the sports world is Tom Brady (“because he is the GOAT”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Women’s Studies, taught by Nandi Crosby…Chose to attend Chico State “because of how successful our softball program is and the amazing people and uplifting atmosphere that this campus holds”…Her greatest sports moment is Del Campo High winning its third league championship in a row…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is ziplining a half-mile in Hawaii with her best friend …The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is making the Dean’s List…Has learned by playing softball “how important personal relationships are, and that they are the foundation of everything. I’ve also learned that failure and adversity create opportunity”…Enjoys reading, mediating, and listening to podcasts when she has some free time…One of her biggest talents outside of softball is writing…Says that “when I was a kid I got a karaoke machine for Christmas every year because I thought I could sing”…At the top of her bucket list: “I want to see the Northern Lights, travel through Europe, and learn how to do the Dougie before I die”…Best advice ever received came from a motivational speaker: “Your dream is not optional, it’s necessary. Go after it like your life depends on it, because it does”…Majoring in psychology…Plans to pursue a career in mental health advocacy.
