Former Wildcats outfielder Sarah Galaviz joins the Chico State softball coaching staff in 2019.
The Southern California native makes her initial foray into the coaching ranks following a college career that included two years playing at Chico State and two at Odessa College in Odessa, Texas. Galaviz batted .276 in her two seasons as a Wildcat, posting a .319 average in 2016. At Odessa College, her .382 batting average in 2015 earned First Team All-Western Junior College Athletic Conference honors. Galaviz was awarded an All-WJCAC Honorable Mention after hitting .354 and stealing 22 bases as a freshman.
A prep standout at Canyon Springs High School in Moreno Valley, Galaviz was an All-Inland Valley League and All-CIF selection in 2012.
Galaviz received her bachelor’s degree in nutrition and food science from Chico State in 2018.
