One of two true freshmen on the Wildcats’ roster…Pre-Chico Days: A 2021 graduate of Liberty High School in Bakersfield…Helped lead the Patriots to three Southwest Yosemite League titles…Two-time First Team All-Area selection…Named the SYL’s Rookie of the Year and earned Second Team All-Area honors in 2018…Personal: Born May 18, 2003, in Bakersfield…Daughter of Ben and Carey…Has one younger sister, Halle…Her mom is her hero (“She is a very strong woman who carries herself with great confidence. Everything that I have learned in life has been from watching her. She has set the greatest example for my sister and I”)…The person she most admires in the sports world is University of Kentucky middle blocker Azhani Tealer (“She is only 5’10” which is considerably short for being an effective D1 middle blocker. Her vertical is something I aspire to. Her agility, lateral movement, and court presence are traits that I hope to emulate while I am on the court”)…Why she chose to attend Chico State: “I see it as a well-rounded school; academic excellence, solid sporting programs, charming college town”…Her greatest sports moment so far is taking first place with her 17’s Bakersfield Volleyball club team at the 2020 Las Vegas Classic…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is spend a week at a dude ranch with her family in Cody, Wyoming (“It was refreshing to take a break from my cell phone, spend time with my family, and experience a slower pace in life in a completely different lifestyle than I am used to”)…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is compete with her club team at the Girl’s National Junior Olympics for three straight years…Has learned by playing volleyball that “if you want something, you have to work hard for it. Dedication can help you achieve things that seem unattainable at first”…Enjoys spending time with family and friends, and going to the lake to tube and wakeboard…Owns a boating license (“but I am terrible at docking a boat”)…At the top of her bucket list: “I have always wanted to travel.
