Biography

Started all 21 games for the Wildcats in 2020, batting .231 with four doubles and 12 runs batted in…Put together a seven game hitting streak February 21–19, batting .455 and knocking in eight runs during that stretch…Tied for fourth on the Wildcats in home runs in 2019…Hit first official round-tripper of her college career April 12, 2019 vs. Stanislaus State…Delivered a three-run bomb May 10, 2019 to power the ’Cats past UC San Diego 6-4 at the NCAA West Regional…Appeared in 21 games as a true freshman in 2018…Pre-Chico Days: A 2017 graduate of Oxnard High School…Helped lead the Lady Yellowjackets to a pair of Pacific View League titles…Two-time First Team All-PVL selection…Second Team All-PVL as a sophomore…Earned Athletic Scholar honors in 2016 and 2017…Personal: Born November 9, 1999, in Oxnard…Daughter of Christian Lopez and Adrianna Valladolid…Has two younger siblings, Christian and Selena…The person she most admires in the sports world is four-time All-American softball player Sierra Romero (“because of her hard work and determination”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Psychology of Coaching, taught by Aubrey Newland…Chose to attend Chico State “because of the campus, community, the WREC, and most importantly, my team and our culture”…Her greatest sports moment is going to the NCAA D-II Championship finals with the Wildcats as a freshman…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is run up the “Rocky Steps” in Philadelphia…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is going straight to a four-year school to play collegiate softball…Has learned by playing softball “to never take anything for granted because anything can be taken from you in a blink of an eye”…Enjoys working, taking naps, playing with her dogs,  and binge-watching TV shows and movies when she has some free time…One of her biggest talents is being able to handstand walk…At the top of her bucket list: “Learn how to surf”…Best advice ever received came from Wildcats head coach Angel Shamblin: “Rush, but don’t hurry”…Majoring in kinesiology…Plans to pursue a career as a radiologic technician and opening her own sports facility in Oxnard.
