CSU Wildcat Highlights: The 2007 CCAA Newcomer of the Year…tied for 10th at the NCAA West Regional at Fox Hollow with rounds of 72-71-70…Fired rounds of 71-74-72 during the CCAA Championship to finish ninth…Finished seventh at the Hawaii-Hilo Mauna Lani Invitational with rounds of 73-78-65…Fired rounds of 71-70-72 during the 2006 Western Washington Viking Classic to finish in a tie for 10th…Finished in 12th with rounds of 74-74-73 during the 2006 Sonoma State Invitational.
Fall 2008: Birdied his final hole to win the 2008 Sonoma State Invitational with rounds of 66, 70 & 70….The victory, the first of his Wildcat career earned him CCAA Golfer of the Week honors, an accomplishment not seen in Chico since the days of J.J. Jakovac…a 73.60 stroke average in the fall earned him two top-20 finishes during the fall campaign.
Amateur / Pre-Chico Collegiate Highlights: Carded a 73 at the 2007 US Open Local…Posted a 72 at qualifying for the 2007 Long Beach Open...2007 USGA Men’s Amateur First Alternate with rounds of 76-65…Fired a 74-72-75-70 at the 2007 Pasadena City Championship…Carded rounds of 75-73-68 during 2007 Long Beach City Championship…Qualified for the 2006 USGA National Public Links Championship at Gold Mountain in Bremerton, Wash., with rounds of 74-70…fired a 68 in 2006 Long Beach Open qualifying…Spent his freshman season at American University...Earned First-Team Patriot League honors during the 2004-05 season…2004-05 Patriot League Freshman of the Year...finished in third place at the 2005 Patriot League Championship.
Personal: Born 2/19/86…The son of Jane Ryan and Kevin Horan…Chose Chico State because of the program’s history of producing All-Americans and National Championship contending teams. Also felt the school was a good fit academically and socially.
