Biography

2009-2010: Opened season with a 25:49 8k time trial and followed this up with a 25:23 run at the Willamette Invitational, finishing 38th overall…Placed 21st overall at the San Francisco State Invitational…Finished fall season with a 33:10 for the 10k at the Almond Bowl classic…Posted a track 5k PR of 15:16 at the team’s Fall time trial…On the track, opened the 2010 season with an 8:47 3k PR, and then followed up with a 9:55 steeple debut at the Kim Duyst Invitational…Posted a 4:00 1500m PR at the Davis Classic, finishing the race with an impressive 2:05 split for the final 800m…Joined the sub-15 club for 5k with his 14:51 mark set at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.  The Chico Twilight Invitational delivered a PR for the steeple (9:24)…Logged another PR, this time for the 1500m, running a 3:55 at the Woody Wilson Invitational…Bettered his PR in the steeple at the CCAA Championships, posting a time of 9:09 that earned a third place finish and a place among Chico State’s 1-2-3 event sweep…This final PR was an NCAA provisional mark, but fell just shy of the 9:08 required to make the NCAA Championships.

2008-2009:  Finished 148th at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego…Followed up with a 27:22 for 8k at the Willamette Invitational…Placed 56th at the San Francisco State Invitational to finish his regular season…Concluded the fall racing program with a 33:55 run at the Almond Bowl 10k…On the track, opened the season with a 15:44 PR for the 5k at the Gator Preview…Several weeks later on the same San Francisco State track, dropped 5k PR to 15:21 at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival…Finished his season with one final PR for the 5k, winning his heat of the Occidental Invitational with a time of 15:19.

2007-2008:  Red shirted both cross country and track his freshman year…Debuted with a 29:10 at the Chico Invitational 8k before leg pains – eventually diagnosed as an infection of the femur, which required surgery – ended his fall season…Saw limited action during the 2008 track season, but posted times of 4:15 in the 1500m and 16:41 for the 5k.

High School:  Dunbar starred at Kodiak HS in Kodiak, AK…Competed for his father Marcus, the head cross country and track coach at the Kodiak High…During senior season of cross country, placed 11th overall at the Adidas Oregon Cross Country Classic, helping his team win the state title…On the track, posted PR’s of 4:29 in the 1600m and 9:50 for the 3200m.
