2021–22
- Raced sparingly during the cross country season
- Opened the fall with a 26:56 five-mile in the team’s pre-season time trial
- Ran an 8k time of 28:09.4 to earn a 140th place finish October 16, 2021 at Santa Clara’s Bronco Invitational
- Concluded the fall with a 15:46 track 5k PR in the team’s post season time trial
- Did not compete during the track and field season due to injury.
 
Pre-Chico Days
- Competed in both cross country and track at Canyon High School in Canyon Country
- As a cross country runner, took top honors as a junior at the Santa Clarita Valley Cross Country Invitational, and later in the season recorded a 12th place finish at the CIF Preliminaries
- First Team All-Foothill League selection, team cross country MVP, and CIF Southern Section Finals Individual Qualifier in 2019
- On the track, helped the Cowboys win the Foothill League T&F championship in 2021
- During his sophomore season on the track, Stevens posted personal best times of 4:30 in the 1,600m and 10:00 in the 3,200m
- As a senior, recorded PRs of 4:28 (1,600m) and 9:33 (3,200m) and won Foothill League titles in both events
- Named Canyon High’s Track Distance MVP.
 
Personal
Born August 8, 2003, in Santa Clarita
- Son of Dave and Tina
- Has one younger brother, Kevin
- The person he admires most in the sports world is middle distance runner Timothy Cheruiyot (“He is an elite runner who is always fun to watch. I’m also a big Kenya fan”)
- Why he chose to attend Chico State: “Chico State has a great cross country team and offers an animation major”)
- His two greatest sports moment are winning the Foothill League 3,200m championship in high school, and placing third at the USA Hockey National Championships
- The most interesting thing he’s ever done is play in an ice hockey tournament in Sweden
- Has learned by competing in distance running that “consistency and patience leads to success”
- Enjoys playing video games when he has some free time
- Says drawing or anything art-related are his biggest non-running talents
- At the top of his bucket list: “Travel the world”
- Best advice ever received came from his Canyon High School cross country coach Dave DeLong: “Sit and kick”
- Majoring in computer animation
- Plans to pursue a career in the animation industry.
