2016-17
Opened the 2016 season with a fifth-place effort at the Humboldt Invitational, helping the 'Cats to a perfect 1-6 sweep…Placed 2nd overall at the Capital Cross Challenge in Sacramento behind teammate Will Reyes in a new 8k PR of 23:45…The fourth 'Cat to cross the finish at the Triton Invitational in San Diego (6th overall), helping the ‘Cats remain undefeated on the season…Sealed the 'Cats' 15th straight CCAA team title as the team’s fifth and final scorer while placing 7th at the CCAA Championships in Ontario…Placed 2nd overall in the West Region Championship, as part of the ‘Cats 1-2-3 finish and eventual team title...Concluded the season with an 11th place effort at the NCAA Championships, earning his second XC All-America honor…On the track, Medina moved his focus from the 800 and 1500 events, to the 1500 and 5k…Opened season with a meet record and PR of 13:54 for the 5k at the SF Distance Carnival...The new personal best was also second all-time on Chico State's Top-10 list…Won the Invitational mile at the Chico Twilight meet in 4:06.06…Recorded a 3:46 seasonal best 1500-meter effort at the Mt SAC Invitational…Placed 8th overall in the 1500 with a seasonal best 3:44.05 at Stanford’s Cardinal Classic....Won his second CCAA 1500-meter title in three years with a victory on his home track…Followed up the 1500-meter title with a runner-up finish in the 5k behind teammate Will Reyes….At the NCAA Championships, Medina placed second in the 1500-meter final by just .22 seconds, making him the runner-up for the second straight year…Several hours later he earned another All-America honor (his sixth to date) with a fourth-place finish in the 5k (14:16) while recording a swift 57-second final revolution of the track....Medina’s standout season earned him the CCAA Male Track Athlete of the Year honors.

2015-16
Began fall season with a third place finish (behind two teammates) at the Ash Creek Invitational…Placed 21st overall at the Stanford Invitational, helping the ’Cats to a second place team effort behind the host Cardinal…Placed 14th overall at the San Francisco State Invitational…Endured his worst outing of the season at the CCAA Championships, finishing 41st overall…Earned a spot on the NCAA team after winning the Doc Adams Invitational with a time of 24:15…Finished 34th overall at the NCAA Championships earning his first cross country All America honor…On the track took some big steps forward at the 1500m distance…Opened the season with a 3:47 heat win at the Stanford Invitational…Followed with a 3:41.80 1500m PR (breaking Scott Bauhs’ eight-year old school record in the event) at the Bryan Clay Invitational – it would be the fastest 1500m time posted by a Division II athlete on the year, and the 19th fastest of any collegian in 2016…Won the Beach Invitational 1500m the following day with a time of 3:46…Placed third in his heat at the Payton Jordan Invitational 1500m with a 3:43.2…Placed second at the CCAA Championships behind NCAA 800m leader Abraham Alvarado of Stanislaus State in a kicker’s race…Finished the season with a second place performance at the NCAA Championships, missing the national title by a scant 0.38 seconds but earning First Team All-America honors.
 
2014-15
Enjoyed a banner freshman year in both cross country and track…Started the fall season as the ’Cats’ No. 4 runner…Placed 30th at the Stanford Invitational with a time of 24:28…Placed 10th at the Charles Bowles Invitational with an 8k clocking of 24:30…Placed 26th at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational with a new 8k PR of 24:13…Earned first All-Conference honor with a fourth place finish at the CCAA Championships…Helped the ’Cats to a NCAA West Regional Championship with a fifth place finish while completing his first 10k race…Took 62nd place at the NCAA Championships…On the track, opened the spring season with a 3:49.09 run in the Wildcat Invitational 1500m…Despite focusing his training on the middle distances, recorded a 14:27 NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the 5000m while finishing third at the Johnny Mathis Invitational…Won the inaugural Invitational Mile at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival with a 4:05.12 PR…Raced to a 1:52 clocking in the 800m the following day at the Stanford Invitational…Recorded a PR time of 1:51.7 in the 800m at the Brian Clay Invitational despite nearly falling with 150 meters remaining…Sealed a spot on the line at the NCAA Championships with a 3:46.06 run in the Beach Invitational 1500m…Won first CCAA title with a 3:52 effort in the 1500m at the Conference Championships…Followed with a fifth place 800m effort shortly after…Earned All-America honors for placing fifth overall in the 1500m at the NCAA Championships.

2013-14
Redshirted in track and cross country…Placed 23rd overall in the Sundodger Open 8k with a 25:31 debut in the distance…Ran 11th at the Willow Hills Open race…Finished cross country with a 5k track time trial time of 15:00…During track season, recorded some of the best marks ever by a Wildcat true freshman in the 800 meters, 1500 meters and 5k…Opened spring with an 8:26 at the Humboldt Invitational 3k...Ran the fastest 5k debut ever by a Wildcat with his 14:33 mark at the Johnny Mathis Invitational, good for third place…Ran second in the 800m at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival with a time of 1:50.9…Placed second at the Chico Distance Carnival 1500m with a 3:51 clocking…Narrowly missed breaking the 3:50 barrier for the 1500m with a season-ending 3:50.33 – also the fastest mark ever among the program’s true freshmen.

Pre-Chico Days
Recorded a time of 15:33 PR at the Clovis Invitational, placing sixth overall...Finished 13th at the Mt SAC Invitational’s Individual Sweepstakes race with a 15:11 PR…On the track enjoyed considerable success in the middle distances…During his senior season ran to a 4:17 PR for the 1600 at the Adidas Meet of Champions…Finished third at the CIF Southern Section Finals in the 800m event and qualifying for the Masters meet with a PR time of 1:53.2.
