Pre Chico: After a solid multi-sport career at Tulare Western HS, competed in soccer at West Hills CC for two years before deciding to return to running at College of Sequoias…Under the watchful eye of Coach David Bronzan, quickly developed into one of the best runners in the state…Placed fourth at the Nor Cal Championships, then posted another fourth place finish at the 2009 State XC Championships, clocking an impressive 20:13 on the Woodward Park 4-mile layout…On the track, Rivera posted PR’s of 1:56, 3:56 and 15:16 for the 800, 1500 and 5k events and was a state meet qualifier.
